Blowing In the Wind

I have used the butterflies that adorn this HTML to refer to the ephemeral lives we lead.  The short-lived Mayfly has a life span of 3 days which is just enough time to reproduce another generation of Mayflies.  "Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny."   In plain words, "The individual repeats the history of the race."

Someone defined "amazing" as a sophisticated way of saying "bullshit."   I have used the word "Bandini" as a polite way to refer to the same word.   I could relate to the double entendre of the TV ad showing a skier going down "Bandini" mountain.  I even know a real estate agent who has the CA license plate, "BNDINI."  In her instance, it refers to a very special person not the swear word, excrement, or fertilizer.

After observing some of the lampooning and/or harpooning of our President which I have printed here, I have decided it is time to show some support of a man that I like and respect.  An old cliche does not apply to this man.  "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with bullshit."  In my opinion, our President has done his best to shoot straight with all Americans.  Politics is a mine field fraught with hidden mines of treacherous misinformation.  In addition my Mother taught me, "We make our biggest mistakes through ignorance."

If President Bush was perfect, he would be dead by now.  e.g.s Jesus (perfectly good) and Hitler (perfectly evil) are both dead.  Since all of us are human, we all make mistakes.  Our President does more good than bad and should be judged by the good he has accomplished as well as his mistakes.  Since I am guilty of repeating some of his grammatical mistakes, I present you the following quotes of others who are far worse in my opinion.

Blowing in the Wind
Bob Dylan - 1962

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
