A Last Goodbye

Most of my friends are aware that I used to distribute new creations by e-mail.   Visitors could always see what was new by looking at the update column to the far right on the home page (www.peteyandpetunia.com).   Thanks to a friend reminding me that my notices are too impersonal, as of today, July 11, 2010, I will send out this last notice of new creations.   However, everyone can check the update column for when the muse strikes me to add/change my creations.   Of course, I will continure to process my incoming e-mail which total about 1000/day, and I will respond to personal messages.

Meanwhile, I am now engaged in a battle for my wife's life.   Most of you know that Lois suffered an aortic dissection on January 8, 2004 similar to the one that killed John Ritter, the actor, and a subsequent stroke that left her paralyzed on January 5, 2007.   What most of you don't know is that the cost of this medical care has cost us almost $7 million in insurance and personal funds meant for retirement.

In addition, I have the attitude of a bulldog and a fair set of mental tools that include a detailed memory back to 2 years of age for which I am more than grateful.   If you would like to know more, please see MyFate2B on our web site.   Over the years, I have won a 7 year battle with 2 banks to return the money from my last Magnavox payroll check.   I also won a 7 year battle with Sterling Software to return $20,000 of 20th Century Fox money.   And 2 weeks ago, I won a 3 year battle to have the medical insurance company pay for 100% of Lois's electric hospital bed.

So, with a prayer and the resolution of a bulldog, I turn my attention to the UCLA hospital system with its new facilities and teaching staff for answers to Lois's multiple life threatening conditions.

(Note: A Last Goodbye from The White Horse Inn and Hear My Song)

My heart is broken,
But what care I?
Such pride inside may be woken,
I'll try my best not to cry,
By and by,
When the final farewells must be spoken.
I'll join the Legion,
That's what I'll do.
And in some far distant region,
Where human hearts are staunch and true,
I shall start my life anew.

Good-bye, it's time
I sought a foreign clime,
Where I may find
there are hearts more kind
Than I leave behind.
And so, I go,
To fight a savage foe,
Although I know
That I'll be sometimes missed by the girls I've kissed.

In some Abyssinian French Dominion
I shall do my bit,
And fall for the flag if I must.
Where the desert sand is nice and handy,
I'll be full of grit;
You won't see my heels for the dust.
I'll do or die
You'll know the reason why
When told of bold Leopold's "last stand"
For the Fatherland.

Good-bye, Good-bye.
I wish you all a last Good-bye.
Good-bye, Good-bye.
I wish you all a last Good-bye.

Good-bye, Good-bye. Good-bye.
Good-bye. Good-bye. Good-bye.

I'm sick of standing
Behind a chair
Bread-sauce respectfully handing.
henceforth I'm free as the air,
I declare,
And my chest has a chance of expanding.
I've done with women,
And now I plan
To join the army of he-men.
And show the ladies, If I can,
that a waiter's still a man.

Good-bye, it's time,
I sought a foreign clime,
Where I may find
There are hearts more kind
Than I leave behind.
And so, I go
To fight a savage foe,
Although I know
That I'll be sometimes missed by the girls I've kissed.
In some Abyssinian French Dominion
I shall do my bit,
And fall for the flag if I must.
Where the desert sand is nice and handy,
I'll be full of grit;
You won't see my heels for the dust.

I'll do or die,
You'll know the reason why
When told of bold Leopold's "last stand"
For the Fatherland.
Good-bye. Good-bye
I wish you all a last Good-bye.
Good-bye. Good-bye.
I wish you all a last Good-bye
