...to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work...

...to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep...
...to be silent when people pray to God for a new car...

...to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower...
...to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying...

...to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp...
...to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather...

...to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold...

...to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog...

...to be civil to people who complain about their jobs...

...to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year...

...to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house...
The only thing harder than being a Soldier...
...is loving one.
"Hard, Ain't It Hard?"
Songwriter(s):
Cisco Houston, Woody Guthrie
(July, 1941)
There is a house in this old town
And that's where my true love lays around
And he takes other women right down on his knee
And he tells them a little tale he won't tell me
It's a-hard and it's hard, ain't it hard
To love one that never did love you?
It's a-hard and it's hard, ain't it hard, great God
To love one that never will be true?
First time I seen my true love
He was walkin' by my door
The next time I saw his false hearted smile
He was layin' dead and cold on floor
Well, who's goin' to kiss your ruby lips?
And who's goin' to hold you to his breast?
And who will talk your future over
While I'm out ramblin' in the West?
Don't go to drinkin' or to gamblin'
Don't go there, your sorrows to drown
That hard-liquor place is a low-down disgrace
It's the meanest old place in this town
"It's Hard" was created to encourage everyone to support our Veterans. Many people remember the Viet-nam protesters. Some Veterans were spit upon and ridiculed by these protesters. However, the suicide rate among today's Veterans is higher than the Viet-nam era. The homeless percentage of Veterans has swelled to 40% or more. Therefore, Veterans today need more support than ever. If you click on the following, you will load 3.3mb of Flash Video.
