Notes: As kids, we skipped rope with 3 or more
by 2 kids holding the ends of a long rope and chanting a rhyme like the one below.
When we chanted "CALLED...", kids would jump in one by one and start skipping.
When we chanted "OUT....", kids would jump out one by one.

The Lady with the Alligator
Purse
Mother,
Mother,
I hurt my neck.
Send for the Doctor,
Quick, quick, quick.
I
drank some
water.
I
ate some soap.

I
sat in
the tub,
But nothing fixed my throat.
Called for the doctor,
Called for the nurse.
Called for the lady
With the alligator
purse.
In came the doctor.
In came the nurse.
In came the lady
With the alligator
purse.
"Mumps," said the doctor.
"Measles," said the nurse.
"Hiccups," said the lady
With the alligator
purse.
Out went the doctor.
Out went the nurse.
Out went the lady
With the alligator
purse.
