Your Cheatin' Heart

Some of the following will be new to some veterans and to Col. Bud Day (Medal of Honor recipient) who became a lawyer so that he could carry the broken healthcare contract through the courts system only to lose to a U.S. Supreme Court decision in 2002.   I am a Viet-nam veteran and do not like the deception any less than my father who was a WWII veteran.   But I have even more horrifying news to add to this debacle.

As of 2007, military recruiters across the country are still propagating the lies to entice young people to enlist.   I have talked to several recruiters who believe that they themselves will be eligible for lifetime healthcare when they retire in 20 to 30 years.   In addition, I was told by a military academy graduate, that the introductory phamphlet (sometimes referred to as the "COMIC BOOK" by new cadets at West Point, the Naval Academy, etc.) promotes the same deception within its covers.

Based on the continuing violation doctrine, I am asking Col. Bud Day and all members of the U.S. Courts system to put an end to this continuing deception in lieu of the 2002 U.S. Supreme Court decision.   I would aslso suggest that the new President-elect be asked to use the powers of his office to end this destructive deception.

At the very least, the new President should order the "COMIC BOOKS" at all the military academies to contain the statement that lifetime healthcare is not part of the benefits package.   And the recruitment phamphlets must also contain the same statment at all recruitment centers.   Isn't it enough that Congress has disrespected the "Greatest Generation?"   In addition, if the new President decides to sit on his hands with one thumb missing, then I believe all young people will be taught the following:

Your Cheatin' Heart (1952)

Music and Lyrics
by
Hank Williams
(1923-1953)

Your cheatin' heart,
Will make you weep,
You'll cry and cry,
And try to sleep,
But sleep won't come,
The whole night through,
Your cheatin heart, will tell on you...

When tears come down,
Like falling rain,
You'll toss around,
And call my name,
You'll walk the floor,
The way I do,
Your cheatin' heart, will tell on you...

Your cheatin' heart,
Will pine some day,
And crave the love,
You threw away,
The time will come,
When you'll be blue,
Your cheatin' heart, will tell on you...

When tears come down,
Like falling rain,
You'll toss around,
And call my name,
You'll walk the floor,
The way I do,
Your cheatin' heart, will tell on you...
